Cosy French cottage close to amenities

September 2018

Rural setting on the outskirts of Mortain with a short but steep walk to the town centre where a couple of good takeaways and restaurants can be found. Close by there is also a Carrefore supermarket, Petrol station and an Aldi. Plenty of exploring to be done in the area. Cottage was cosy and homely. The bed was comfortable.

Cosy cottage

Typically French

August 2018

We found the cottage to be a typical French layout, clean, with plenty of utensils available . It is situated in a quiet location with plenty of walks around the small village and some fantastic views from top of the cliffs, where there is a petite chapel and WW 2 lookout post. We both enjoyed our 8 day stay here and would love to return in the near future.

Ideal base

July 2018

We had a nice time using Mortain as a homebase for our trips to Brittany and up the Cotentin Peninsula, as well as many other places in Normandy. The cottage is in good shape and had everything we needed. It is an amazing little house near historical sites covering many centuries. We did a kayak trip on the river Orne. It was very nice. We loved it here and our days were not long enough!

Return to a birthplace!

A marvellous week here in the charming cottage, where I was born. I have renewed my acquaintance with my childhood region. Very nostalgic. Thank you very much.

Beautiful setting

April 2018

We had a great time visiting a number of places of interest including the Mont St Michel, which is fantastic and very well worth visiting. The place where the cottage sits was the site of a fierce American/German battle in 1944. A lovely cottage in a beautiful setting, in a very fine country. We'll certainly return.
